SS17 Hair Trends

Spring Summer 2017 Trends

Can you believe we are actually here? Summer! One of Canadas most cherished times! Along with summer we associate many things. Camping, swimming, fishing, canoeing, blah blah blah…lets get real here! We love these activities, but, we LOVE the main ingredient that makes all of these things amazing: THE SUN! In turn, we are proposing what makes us feel free as we reacquaint ourselves in form of style and hair.

It’s all about being comfortable with our natural beauty and feeling free. This is where our Spring Summer 17’ trends stem from. We will be proposing a series of fun and wearable looks within our collection this year. Referencing reliable sources but most of all the looks coming from our own creative ideas. Let’s will jump right into the fun!

Showing off that pink & lavender pastel!

As we all know the balayage/ombre looks are here to stay and are in full effect for who want a natural look. These looks are also created for people that like to be more daring and love fantasy colours. Our proposal this season is “natural meets fantasy”. We took variations of blending methods and incorporated them with silver-blonds and pastel colours. The incorporation of braids to create a bohemian look is very big this season as well. Deriving from people going to music festivals to people using braids for convenience at the gym. Keep reading to find out why pastel colours suite you more than you would think…

PASTEL PERFORMANCE

Look created by Pino. 50’s inspired pompadour

The wonderful thing about pastel colours is that they give your skin tone the immediate illusion of a tan. Just think about why people go lighter. The visual of a blonde with no gold tones in will suite almost every skin tone. Add a muted colour (pastel) to this and you are generally still a high lift blonde looking like you just got back from a quick 3 day getaway in the Bahamas.

Pink  & Lavender Crossroads

Our first model (Emily) is what hair colourists consider a rare gem. This means that she has natural virgin hair and has never coloured it! Since we are working with such a great palette (Natural level 6-7) we had the opportunity to create pastel colours. The pastels formed from a silver shadow root and went into a pink and lavender. To achieve this we had to lighten Emily’s hair as light as we could past a pale yellow. As you can see in the pictures we created the shadow root first and then applied our pastel using a balayage technique. The pastel lavender was placed around the nape area so that when she braids her hair both pastel colours will intertwine with each other and create a boho meets fantasy look. There are endless ways of showing off these colours. Soft waves so the lavender can peek through, straight, so you can see the seamless blend of the shadow root.

Here is our SS17 Collection in photos! Enjoy!

Winter Fashion

Winter Fashion outfits are glistening the runways everywhere this year. From New York to Paris winter is one of the favorite seasons in terms of clothing; it’s the time of year where one gets to wear cute jackets, scarves, and boots! What better items to accessorize your outfit with!

The Debuts

This years’ season debuts with three main colours which align perfectly with the holiday season. Deck yourself out head to toe in white and accessorize with red and/or black. Wear some white faux fur and add a bright pop of colour; accentuate your lips with a red hue and pair them with a black smoky eye and prepare to get noticed.

As the months leading up to the New Year begin to get chilly, a jacket tends to be the number one item needed in your wardrobe. In terms of what to wear for jackets this year, you have a plethora of options! Firstly, soft material jackets are in; who wouldn’t want to cuddle up close to someone who feels nice and soft while keeping warm at the same time! Puffer jackets continue to be in style; however they are being made to look sleek at the same time. This allows you to be winter ready without looking like a marshmallow; while avoiding looking like one, make sure your puffer jacket instead stays within the ‘marshmallow’ colour scheme; light pink, light yellow and light blue.

Trends

The next jacket trend to keep an eye on is the wearing of a plaid coat. This can easily be tied together with your outfit by wearing some kind of matching scarf. You can also pair skinny jeans with your plaid coat and add a bit of different texture by adding a furry hood. This will give you some distinction between all the different pieces of your outfit. If you aren’t so much into the marshmallow colours, you can go back to the look of traditional black, but make sure that you pair it with a bright coloured scarf to add some definition. Coats with a fastened collar are also being talked about this year. Fastening it helps to achieve that ‘high fashion’ look being found on runways across the globe.

Pairings

Since the winter season tends to be cooler, make sure that you are laying your clothes. However keep them paired with bright knits in order to add distinction and to avoid looking too frumpy. Flashes of bright, neon colours could be just the pop you need to take your look to the next level. When adding colour this holiday season stay within the realm of jewel tones. These consist of amethyst, sapphire, emerald, ruby, garnet and citrine.Winter Fashion

When going out for a night on the town channel your inner punk and rock the night away. Start by dressing head to toe in leather or black velvet. Add a little personal flare by making slashes in your pants to create a sort of grunge look; if you don’t want to wear pants, grab a black mini skirt and put some ripped black tights on underneath. Pair either of these choices with black studded boots and you’ll be the hit of the party! Tone on tone colour is huge this year so add a little fun to your punk look by doing black matte nails with a French tip but instead of using white for the tip, use a shimmery black!

Take these tips and you are well on your way to being a fashionista for the New Year!

An Autumn Runaway into the 90’s

Have you ever felt the need to escape sometimes? When we are in the same loop week to week and the previous week is a mirror vision of the upcoming 9-5 schedule that is waiting for you it might cross our minds to just escape society. This is where the heart of our style proposal stems from. Some people will leave on a trip or vacation, others might undertake an expedition into the wild or face their fears in order to reset the soul by doing something like sky diving or deep sea scuba diving. Any of these ideas involve a certain action plan that must be completed before a rest can happen. There are some ways to reset the soul that involve no plan of action and no itinerary. Our vision comes from teenagers that are seeking a new way of being and in turn creating the style proposal we have created.

With the help of photographer Vincenzo Cherubino we have created a 2015 autumn style collection which arises from an early 90’s grunge feel with a rebellious attitude. We worked along side fashion stylist Kassi Meslo to put the 90’s wardrobe together and she nailed it! The make-up was provided by the very talented Kelly Parker.  These three friends take the train down memory lane and express themselves in their own individual way. This is our way of exposing the spirit of our collection. Enjoy!

Fall Shoot B1

This scene screams 90’s! Our fashion stylist (Kassi Meslo) incorporated some props from the 90’s for some nostalgia. Brandon is wearing BMW original racing pants with a 90’s icon tee with a Moschino sparkle vest and Harry Rosen vintage tuxedo shoes.

Laura defenitly defines 90's grunge with a bad ass demeanor. Laura has some of the best natural curls I have ever worked with. I went with more of an "I don't care what my hair looks like" mood with the bandana. A touch of fuchsia in her curls just because these girls can get away with anything on the street.

2015 Fall Beauty Trends

With summer coming to an end, our trends are changing as fast as the leaves on the trees. Pastels are out in terms of day time shadow and are being replaced with orange hues; neon, apricot, mandarin, bronze and peach! In keeping with that color scheme, blush is the go to product this fall. Make sure you use a blush with enough warm peach and rose pigments to make it look like you just got back from a brisk run. Everyone will ask you how you manage to keep your glow looking so fresh. Since orange is going to be your base color for the lids, everything else this fall tends to be a bit more intense in order to add some definition to your face.

Perfect Lips

Lips this fall are going to counter your eyes which will bring the entire look together! Fashion magazine describes the new lipstick trend as ‘goth’ or ‘gothic’. The colors they suggest are; intense reds, burgundies, plums and blacks. Make sure to use a lip liner close in color to your lipstick shade. Follow with thick black lash extensions to create further definition moving into the eye area. To achieve a dramatic eye this fall encompass the eye with a thick, black liner and smudge along the water line to create a worn look. Using a gel liner for this look will bring added intensity allowing for your eyes to become the key feature of your ensemble.

Gotta Have The Hair

Now that we have the makeup taken care of, we will move right into hairstyles.   If you’d like to avoid the fall wind that tends to ruin hair, you will be on the right track going with a low ponytail. Regardless of how you choose to complete the style, whether it is sleek or messy, as long as it is low you are golden. There are many options for your hair! The first being an intense red; this will pair nicely with a red lip and a dark eye. You can also opt for a warmer brown with a slight transition into blonde. If you are more of a short hair worshipper, the following styles are quick and easy to achieve.

Short Hair Styles

Short hair styles or “chic bobs” are excellent for the muggy year we‘re having. They are easy to maintain and are very low maintenance. You can always change up your long hair with messy French twists, loose waves or pin straight hair. Do you tend to be rushing around with the new school year starting? Place your usual bun with a knot which will allow you to achieve a look that is both messy and kept out of your face. The last hair fashion trend that we can see emerging this fall has to do with the initial way you do your hair; the part!!! Slick and deep side parts are all the rage for this season. Not only does it allow for a little artistic flare but it also allows for that ‘grown out’ look that is becoming ever so popular.

We’re Going Back!

Clothing fashion is turning back the clock…to the 70’s!! High waist pants, short skirts, headbands, medium wedges, faux fur, flounce hems, and carwash pleats are great! Pair these with some feminine, sparkly jewellery, a grey suit and chic black boots and you have a found a fall fashion that is perfect for you! Complete your entire look with a pair of leather gloves and everyone will think you are back in the 70s and “out of sight”.
